Structural Relief Therapy

So what is Structural Relief Therapy?

Structural Relief Therapy (SRT), according to Taya Countryman, “is an
advanced massage technique that stops involuntary muscle contraction,
restores joint function (ROM), instantly changes posture, and dramatically
decreases pain in the first treatment.”

Taya studied with the URSA Foundation in the early 1980′s.  SRT is a
blending of  Positional Release Therapy, Strain and Counter strain,
Muscle Energy, and fascia release and from what her clients have taught
her.

SRT  is a non-invasive way to help many chronic soft tissue conditions.
The concept  is to find the SRT tender point,  position the body so that
the pain of the tender point is significantly decreased, hold the
position for between 90 – 120 seconds, and then slowly returned to
neutral.

This is not the normal relaxation/stress relief type of massage or deep
tissue massage, but rather a specific treatment technique. This
technique may be easily used with other techniques such as myofascial
release.

SRT is for anyone with chronic & complex conditions including:
Low Back Pain
Fibromyalgia
Headaches
Sciatica
Thoracic outlet syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome
Mid back pain / “knife in the back”
Hip & Knee pain
Foot & lower leg pain
